265 CI POWER PACK, TWO-TONE RED AND WHITE, NICELY RESTORED, PB W/FRONT DISC

A former museum inmate, this 1956 Chevy is a neat vintage cruiser with a few smart upgrades. Packing its original 265 cubic inch V8, a set of disc brakes up front, and that glittering red and white paint job, this one drives and shows extremely well.

Starting with a straight car with all its original sheetmetal intact, itпїЅs easy to create a stunner like this. The paint is excellent, but not so over-restored that it looks conspicuous. According to the cowl tag, this one was originally plain old India Ivory, which isnпїЅt much fun, so it was given that sparkling red and white job that looks exactly right. The bodywork was professionally refinished, so there are no ripples or waves in the panels, and the final finish received a quality cut and buff to produce a high shine that endures to this day. No modifications, no deleted trim, just careful workmanship that respected the original look. Although restored a few years ago, this one still looks very nice today, suggesting a substantial investment in money and time went into making this car look this good.

The matching white and red cloth and vinyl interior is beautifully finished, and is just more proof that someone went the extra mile ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

The matching white and red cloth and vinyl interior is beautifully finished, and is just more proof that someone went the extra mile with this car. Both the front and rear seats feature new covers with a suitably 1950s pattern, and with a complete color change, you also get new door panels and correct carpets. The dashboard is truly exceptional, with crisp gauges, clear lenses, and bright trim that seems to defy the years. An AM/FM/cassette stereo has been fitted in the interest of long-distance cruising comfort, but otherwise it retains all the basic goodness of a 1950s Chevrolet. Matching red rubber floor mats are a nice accessory, and the simple trunk features a rubber mat and a full-sized spare with complete jack assembly.

Under the hood youпїЅll find a correct 265 cubic inch V8 with the optional Power Pack, which raised power to 205 thanks to a special high-lift cam, intake manifold, and four-barrel carburetor. YouпїЅll also note that this Bel Air carries factory power brakes, which now feature front discs for added safety. The engine has obviously been freshened, and wears fresh Chevy Orange paint that stands out vividly in the satin black engine bay. The two-speed PowerGlide transmission was apparently addressed at the same time, and it runs superbly today. ThereпїЅs a new dual exhaust system with glass pack mufflers and bright polished tips under the rear bumpers, giving the small block a performance sound. The entire car is extremely tight with no squeaks or rattles, and it rolls on a set of new G78-15 whitewalls on the original wheels with full wheel covers.

With a very cool color combination and the Power Pack enhanced V8 under the hood, this Bel Air hardtop is a wonderful machine to show and drive. Please come in and have a look at this one in person. Just be prepared: as soon as you see it, youпїЅll fall in love. Call today!
