Description
Giddy up, giddy up 409! That's right, that magical machine the Beach Boys sang about can be yours, but in an even more thrilling and aesthetically pleasing package. If you saved your pennies and you saved your dimes, take a look at this Lamborghini Orange 1927 Ford Roadster, and we dare you to try and take your eyes off of it. Staggered 17-inch front American Racing Torq Thrust rims up front, and larger 18-inch units sit out back shod in monstrously wide dot-approved steamroller-sized Pro Street tires in back with 315/45R-17 Goodyears up front. Inside, the interior of this hot rod is best described as thrillingly minimalist. The orange-and-black theme flows over from the exterior inside the car, highlighted by a set of white-faced Equus gauges, a trick aluminum steering wheel, and a B&M ratchet shifter.
Under the hood, we find a 400 cubic-inch small-block Chevy which has been bored 0.40 over to increase displacement to that magical 409 mark. Documents state that this big motor was installed three years ago and currently has less than 500 miles on it. Keeping with the Beach Boys ballad, this hot rod has the fabled "dual-quad" setup, in this case, two 500 CFM Edelbrock carbs feeding this V-8 its fuel while a set of shorty headers connected to a true-dual exhaust that dumps before the rear axle gives this machine a bark to match its bite.

Though it doesn't have a four-speed like the Boys sang about, this attention-grabbing roadster has a quick-shifting TH350 three-speed automatic transmission that sends power out to a Ford nine-inch rear end. Transverse leaf springs up front and coilovers out back set the perfectly aggressive stance for this car, while front discs and rear drums help reign things in when the fun is coming to a close for the day. So while we can't confirm when taken to the track she'll always shine, or that she'll always turn in the fastest times, we can unquestionably tell you that this 409 is, in fact, real fine.
