This real deal 1966 Pontiac GTO has extra V8 power, four-on-the-floor, and a mean blackout style. And what you'll like best about this one is that it all comes together on a package that has been subtly upgraded to be a better driver's classic.
This coupe has good panel alignment, consistent body gaps, clean glass, pliable weather-stripping, and complete bright work. So it's a coupe that checks the fundamental boxes for a quality classic. And when you have a powerful car like a GTO, black always fits in. It was upgraded later in life, and the finish strikes a balance of good glow in the sunshine to show off the terrific flying buttress profile while also keeping an overall driver-ready appearance that makes it an anytime cruiser. Plus, the full-length red pinstripe does a fantastic job highlighting the first-gen GTO's Coke bottle styling. Stacked headlights, a mesh grille with fog lights, and a hood scoop crisply present a timelessly intimidating presence. And the set of 15-inch Cragar SS wheels with larger rear tires is the perfect addition. It adds polish, a classic look, and an excellent stance.
The black interior continues the car's clean and mean attitude. It's a tidy vintage ... Please ask for the full description.

Description
It's a tidy vintage package, with a deep color on details like the carpeting and dash pad. And everything from the detailed pleated upholstery to the working dome light gives this the right classic atmosphere. But you also want this to be a better cruiser, so features like the tinted windows and the AM/FM/CD stereo make this classic more fun in modern times. It also likes to be a true driver's car. So you have nice stock-style features like low-back front bucket seats and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This is complemented by upgrades like the Hurst T-bar floor shifter and a full Dakota Digital gauge package.
Under the hood, the turquoise block and tidy setup look quite right for a GTO. But this is a later upgraded 428 cubic-inch powerhouse (Pontiac wouldn't get above 400ci on the factory cars until 1970.) And the power upgrade doesn't just stop with size. It has performance upgrades like Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads, an Edelbrock aluminum intake, and topped with a Holley double-pumper four-barrel carburetor. And Hooker long tube headers add even more power as they contribute to the rumble of the dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. There are even the right supporting components, like finned Mickey Thompson valve covers and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Best of all, you have complete control over this power and its soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. With power steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As, this coupe was meant to be enjoyed with ease. The suspension has newer components and sway bars front and rear to give you added confidence on the road.
The sale comes complete with Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation and owner's manual. This is the driver's GTO with added power poise. So don't let it slip away. Call now!
